Working to Change It at Monash
Monash University's brand evolution introduced a refreshed visual identity alongside new, engaging content formats designed specifically for social media.
The goal was to reimagine Monash University's social media presence to better demonstrate the breadth and depth of the institution—from world-leading research and expert insights to student life, alumni achievements and global impact. As social media continues to evolve, the brand needed to move beyond traditional university communications, introducing dynamic, audience-first content that redefined how Monash connected with its community under the brand platform, "Changing what comes next."
The rebrand established a cohesive visual system and flexible content framework that elevated Monash University's digital presence, making research, news and community stories more engaging, recognisable and relevant across its social media channels.

As Monash University's content evolved, its social media presence had become visually fragmented, with inconsistent layouts, typography and content treatments that created a disconnected brand experience. The rebrand introduced a cohesive visual system that unified diverse content pillars while strengthening recognition and engagement across the University's primary social channel.
Monash Lens is Monash University's digital storytelling and news platform.
The goal was to create micro-articles for social platforms as a new form of engaging content. The refreshed visual identity helped present Lens content—such as research explainers, expert opinions and news stories—in a more consistent, engaging and recognisable format that aligned with the broader Monash brand
Monash Life is a new content stream within Monash University's communications that focuses on the student experience and campus life.
The goal was to bring student stories, events and campus experiences together under a cohesive brand system alongside Monash Lens and other university communications.
Designed as a flexible visual system, the rebrand extended beyond social media into print and event design, ensuring a consistent brand experience across student-focused campaigns, campus signage, merchandise and experiential touchpoints.
"I can't speak highly enough of Carla. Not only is she a talented graphic designer emerging in her field, Carla is super easy to communicate and work with. During her time at Monash University, she showcased her creativity, time management and strong attention to detail through the large volume of social media and marketing graphics she designed. On top of this, she worked with the graphic design team and UMAC leaders / managers to roll out a new look and feel for both Monash brand and student channels. The development of the new brand book was a huge task and required expert knowledge, creative flare and hard work to deliver. Carla's interest and enthusiasm in graphic design is evident in both her work and communications. If I had alterations or a last minute design request, she was always online and ready to accept and produce the assets. I can happily say that she is very reliable and she was a pleasure to work with. Carla was a tremendous asset to our social media team and other teams across Monash. She always took initiative to take on work without being asked, her work ethic was trusting and she held herself accountable in her role. I recommend her in any relevant professional setting.."
